Verified against code: 2026-10-11

Purpose

A two-page summary opened from Stats in the action menu / Controls page (menus.md). Page 1 compares the current track with the whole trip. Page 2 splits the current track into motored, sailed and motorsailed distance and time.

How the totals are counted (which seconds and miles go to which state): ../shared/calculations.md and recording.md.

Data

Value Meaning
Track distance Distance of the current track so far, including before any pause
Track sailed Distance in state SAIL
Track motored Distance in state ENGINE
Track motorsailed Distance in state MOTORSAIL
Track "eng" / "Engine" Track motored + track motorsailed
Trip distance / sailed / motored Totals of the trip's stopped tracks (motored = engine + motorsail) plus the current track
Motored / sailed / motorsailed time Unpaused seconds of the current track in that state

Stationary states add time to none of the rows.

Layout

Both pages are black. Positions are fractions of screen width (x) and height (y). Text is anchored at its top edge (not vertically centred).

Formats

  • Distance <d>: nautical miles without unit in the tables. One decimal below 10 (7.4), no decimals from 10 (23). 0.0 when there is none.
  • Time: <h>h <mm>m, hours without leading zero, minutes two digits: 0h 00m, 2h 05m, 14h 30m.

Behaviour

  • The view opens on page 1.
  • Values update every second while the track records.
  • The track keeps recording while the stats are shown; alerts and auto-stats overlays can appear on top.

Inputs (page flip, back to the action menu / Controls page or the instruments): input.md (Other screens per platform).

Wear OS

The two pages are a vertical pager; they don't wrap.

Apple Watch

⏳ Two-page stats as here (port plan, Phase 3).

States and edge cases

  • No distance yet: all distance cells show 0.0, all times 0h 00m.
  • Long trips: trip values of 10 nm and more lose their decimal, so three- and four-digit miles still fit the column.
  • First-track rule: the single-column layout depends on whether a track of this trip was stopped before, not on how many tracks will follow. After a discarded or crashed first track, the trip still counts as having no stopped track.

Known deviations

  • Wear OS returns to the instruments, not to the Controls page, on swipe-back, and has no one-step exit like Garmin START (parity.md P8).
